Defending the Early Years, Inc. is a Massachusetts non-profit corporation, created June 5, 2018. Our lawyers have prepared an application to the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”), requesting a determination that Defending the Early Years, Inc. is a charitable organization, as defined in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
We expect this application will result in Defending the Early Years, Inc. receiving a favorable determination from the IRS. Provided that occurs, the organization’s tax-exempt status will be retroactive to the day it was created, and a donor’s gift to the organization will be treated as a charitable contribution in the year it is made.
